As He Read

He looked me in my eyes
And read me the words
That were engraved on his soul
I felt him in the
Flutters of my heart
Cause from one poet
To another I know what
It feels like to share the secrets
Of your mind
So I listened and tried to
Complete his thoughts
Before his lips could speak them
As he ripped open his chest
And let me watch his heart bleed
I know what that feels like
It’s the most
Vulnerable you could ever be
There’s no where to hide
Between the lines
Of stanzas
It’s more intimate than sex
And we had a threesome
Me, him, and his poetry
They turned me out
I’ve become addicted
His words, my new drug
His message, my needle
His mind, my vain
His poetry, my euphoria
Beyond impressed, I’m obsessed
With these same eyes
But now I see him clearer
He showed his soul to me
All because he shared his poetry

passion

i write until the pen runs out of ink; if i had to, i'd prick my finger and let the words bleed onto the page.

Lauryn Hill - Tell him

Let me be patient
Let me be kind
Make me unselfish
Without being blind
Though I may suffer I’ll envy him not
And endure what comes
Cause he's all that I got and tell him

Tell him I need him
Tell him I love him
And it'll be alright
Tell him I need him
Tell him I love him
It’ll be alright

Now I may have faith to make mountains fall
But if I lack love then I have nothing at all
I can give away everything I possess
But am without love then I have no happiness
I know I’m imperfect and not without sin
But now that I’m older all childish things end.

I’ll never be jealous and I won't be too proud
Cause love is not boastful
And love is not loud
Tell him need him
Tell him I love him
Everything is gonna be alright
